Best AI SEO Agents in 2026: 11 Agents Compared

The best AI SEO agent is the one that does the jobs you don't have time for, without you. If you want articles researched, written and published on autopilot, look at BabyLoveGrowth, Bottally, Distribb, Outrank and The SEO Agent. If you want an agent inside an SEO platform that researches, audits and drafts while a person decides, look at Frase, Nightwatch and Writesonic. Developers whose site lives in a code repo should look at SEOAgent, and teams that want to build their own workflows should look at Relevance AI. If you would rather have people run the agent for you, TripleDart sells one as an agency service.

Prices checked October 2026 on each vendor's own site. Bottally publishes this blog and is on the list. We placed it by the same rule as everyone else: grouped by type, then alphabetical within each group.

What is an AI SEO agent?

An AI SEO agent is software that carries out SEO work in a loop without being prompted each time. It picks keywords, writes or updates pages, publishes them, and checks what happened. An AI writing tool waits for your prompt. An agent runs on a schedule.

The word is used loosely in 2026. Some products called agents are assistants inside a rank tracker that suggest fixes. Others publish to your blog every day. So instead of asking whether something is an agent, ask which of these jobs it does without you:

  1. Keyword and competitor research
  2. Writing articles or updating existing pages
  3. Publishing to your CMS
  4. Building or exchanging backlinks
  5. Tracking Google rankings
  6. Tracking whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers name you

No product on this list does all six at full depth. The entries below say which ones each covers.

Autopilot agents that publish for you

These five research, write and publish on a schedule. You connect your blog once, and most let you read articles before they go live.

BabyLoveGrowth

BabyLoveGrowth writes and auto-publishes 30 articles a month on its Grow plan, places contextual links through an automated exchange where "every customer both gives and receives value," fixes technical SEO such as schema and meta tags, suggests brand-mention comments on Reddit and Quora, and turns articles into Instagram posts.

  • Price: Grow from $49 a month billed yearly; Scale from $199 a month billed yearly. The same numbers show in euros or pounds outside the US. 3-day free trial.
  • Tracks: 10 AI prompts on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini on Grow; 50 on Scale.
  • Best for: small businesses that want articles, links and social posts from one subscription.
  • Limitation: the entry plan tracks 10 prompts on three models, and Perplexity is not one of them.

Bottally

Bottally runs a weekly loop: it researches keywords, audits your site, reads what competitors publish, finds the gaps, writes seven articles and publishes one a day. It publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, Shopify, Wix, Notion, Framer, Next.js or any webhook, and has an API and MCP server. It asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode up to 30 buyer questions every week and records whether you are named or cited; questions where you are missing become articles. The opt-in backlink network places links inside members' articles, never to a brand you listed as a competitor, and a credit ledger keeps giving and getting even.

  • Price: Pro is $99 a month for one site. The Free plan does not publish or track AI engines; the free tools need no account.
  • Tracks: 30 questions on four AI engines, re-asked weekly.
  • Best for: founders and small teams who want content, AI visibility tracking and links in one plan.
  • Limitation: it is not a deep analytics suite. One site per plan, 30 questions, four engines (no Gemini, Claude or Copilot), weekly rather than daily sweeps, and no large rank-tracking or backlink database.

Distribb

Distribb runs buy-intent keyword research on a rolling 30-day calendar, writes up to 30 articles a month on Pro, and publishes automatically or after your approval to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Wix, Ghost, Notion, Framer, GoHighLevel or a webhook. It also finds "best of" listicles and drafts pitches to get you added, and can run your Google Business Profile.

  • Price: Pro $97 a month, or $79 a month billed yearly; Accelerator $495 a month. 7-day free trial.
  • Tracks: AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, scanned weekly. The plan list does not say which plan includes the tracker, so confirm before you buy.
  • Best for: small B2B and SaaS teams that want the widest engine coverage in an autopilot plan.
  • Limitation: its "ABC" exchange (3 to 5 links a month on Pro) runs on links you host in your own articles; Distribb says about five published articles a month is what the exchange runs on.

Outrank

Outrank builds a 30-day keyword plan and publishes one article a day, with internal and external links, AI images and YouTube embeds, in more than 150 languages. It publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Framer, Wix, Notion, Ghost, Next.js or a webhook, or to a free blog it hosts. Its exchange places links to you inside relevant articles on other members' blogs, paid for with credits you earn by hosting links.

  • Price: $99 a month or $999 a year for 30 articles a month; 60 articles cost $85 more. Paid backlink plans run from $199 to $1,899 a month. Free trial articles carry a watermark.
  • Tracks: rankings, indexed pages and backlinks. Not AI answers: its AI visibility page says citation counts "are tracked by Ahrefs, not by us."
  • Best for: founders who want daily articles and link building with the most CMS and language options.
  • Limitation: no AI visibility tracking in the product. Our Outrank review goes deeper.

The SEO Agent

The SEO Agent writes 30 articles a month, one a day, published on approval or automatically. It checks every claim against its sources and holds back any article with an unfixed fact problem for your review. It adds internal links, images, alt text and metadata, and publishes to WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, Ghost, Wix, Framer or a webhook.

  • Price: $1 for 3 days, then $99 a month; each extra site is $79 a month. Month to month.
  • Tracks: nothing in AI answers. It connects to Search Console for planning.
  • Best for: single-site owners who care most about fact-checked articles.
  • Limitation: no AI visibility tracking and no link building. Its own GEO page says it does production, not monitoring.

Agents inside SEO platforms

These three put an agent on top of a research, writing or tracking product. A person usually stays in the loop.

Frase

Frase calls itself an AI SEO agent that researches, writes and publishes. It studies the pages and AI answers that win a query, writes a brief, drafts in your brand voice, scores the draft for SEO and GEO, and can publish to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or its own hosted CMS. When a page slips, it drafts the fix.

  • Price: Starter $49 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly: 1 site, 10 articles and 50 audit pages a month. Professional is $129 a month. 7-day free trial, no card.
  • Tracks: ChatGPT and Google AI on Starter; Perplexity from Professional; Claude and Gemini on Scale.
  • Best for: content teams that want an agent but still edit every draft.
  • Limitation: Starter covers 10 articles and two AI engines a month, and backlinks are outreach drafts you send yourself.

Nightwatch

Nightwatch is a rank tracker with an SEO agent, NightOwl, included on every plan. The agent automates keyword research, technical audits, content suggestions, rank tracking and competitor monitoring, and gives recommendations.

  • Price: Starter €99 a month, or €79 a month billed yearly. 14-day free trial, no card.
  • Tracks: Google rankings, plus ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, AI Mode and AI Overviews on all plans; Starter includes 50 prompts and 1,500 AI answers a month.
  • Best for: SEO teams and agencies whose main need is rank and AI tracking.
  • Limitation: it recommends rather than publishes, and agent runs are capped by credits (100 a month on Starter).

Writesonic

Writesonic sells itself as an AI search visibility platform with agents. They find prompts where competitors are recommended instead of you, rewrite pages for AI answers, surface the Reddit, YouTube and listicle pages that get cited and draft outreach, and audit robots.txt, schema and AI-bot errors. Content publishes to WordPress, Sanity, Contentful, Notion, HubSpot and others.

  • Price: Starter $79 a month billed annually; self-serve from $99 a month on monthly billing.
  • Tracks: ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, 50 prompts daily on Starter, plus 15 AI articles and 10 site audits a month.
  • Best for: marketing teams that put AI search visibility first.
  • Limitation: agentic workflows are capped at 10 trial runs on Starter, and Perplexity, Claude and AI Mode tracking are Enterprise only.

Agents for developers and builders

Relevance AI

Relevance AI is a platform for building AI agents. Its SEO agent is a set of templates you customize: a competitor keyword analyzer, a blog post outliner, a content refresh planner, a content cluster planner, a search-intent mismatch checker and a backlink prospector that drafts outreach.

  • Price: Pro $29 a month, or $19 a month billed annually, with 2,500 actions a month, per Relevance AI's pricing docs. The public pricing page lists Enterprise with "Talk to sales". The free plan is retired.
  • Tracks: no AI visibility tracking is described.
  • Best for: operations and growth teams that want to build their own SEO workflows.
  • Limitation: you build and maintain the agent, and costs scale with usage.

SEOAgent

SEOAgent runs inside the coding agent you already use, such as Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. The free skill audits technical SEO and edits metadata, schema, FAQs and internal links as changes in your repo, and builds landing pages and articles as real files. Autopilot adds Search Console measurement, a weekly digest, sitemap submission, competitor and SERP research, and backlink outreach drafts you approve.

  • Price: the skill is free; Autopilot is $79 per site a month, with a 14-day free trial and no card.
  • Tracks: Search Console data on Autopilot, plus a live check of whether AI answers surface your business.
  • Best for: developers and builders whose site lives in a repo.
  • Limitation: it does not publish to a CMS on its own; changes go through your coding agent.

Agency-run agents

TripleDart

TripleDart is a B2B marketing agency. Its AI SEO agent runs research, production and technical work while senior operators set the strategy, and an editor approves each piece before it is published.

  • Price: Organic Growth starts at $5,000 a month, billed monthly with no long-term commitment, covering up to 30 content assets a month, 5,000 tracked prompts and a dedicated strategist.
  • Tracks: visibility across four AI assistants.
  • Best for: funded B2B companies that want done-for-you SEO with people accountable for it.
  • Limitation: it is an agency retainer, not software you run yourself. Our guide to AI SEO agents vs SEO agencies covers when that trade is worth it.

How to choose an AI SEO agent

  1. Does it publish, or hand you drafts? Autopilot agents publish to your CMS. Platform agents usually draft and wait. Decide how much review you will really do.
  2. Does it track AI answers, and how? Check which engines are on your tier, how many questions, and how often they are re-asked. Ten prompts on three models is a different product from 50 prompts on six.
  3. Where do the links come from? Exchange networks, outreach drafts and paid placements are different things. Google's spam policies list "excessive link exchanges" as link spam, so ask how links are matched, placed and capped.
  4. What does the entry tier cap? Articles a month, tracked prompts, agent credits, sites. Most limits sit there.
  5. Can you read and stop everything? You should be able to see every article, every change and every link, and pause the agent.
  6. What happens if you cancel? Content published to your own CMS stays yours. Content on a vendor-hosted blog may not move with you.

Is there an AI that can do SEO?

AI can now do most of the repeatable SEO work: research, writing, internal linking, publishing and tracking. It still cannot decide your positioning, fix your templates, run a site migration or earn press coverage. Those need people. If your gaps are content and AI visibility, an agent covers them. If they are technical or strategic, an agency or consultant does.

Can ChatGPT do SEO?

ChatGPT can draft, brainstorm and explain SEO. It does not run on a schedule, publish to your blog, or keep asking AI engines whether they recommend you. That is the gap AI SEO agents fill.

What is AI SEO called now?

You will see three names. AEO, answer engine optimization, is about being the answer an AI engine gives; see our list of the best AEO tools. GEO, generative engine optimization, is about making content that generative engines can find, read and cite; see the best GEO tools. "Agentic SEO" describes doing either with agents instead of manual work.

Will Google penalize content from an AI SEO agent?

Not for being made with AI. Google's 2023 guidance says "appropriate use of AI or automation is not against our guidelines." Its scaled content abuse policy targets unoriginal pages made mainly to manipulate rankings, "no matter how it's created." An agent that publishes daily has to publish pages that answer something real, and someone on your team should read them.

See where you stand before you pick

Add your site to the AI visibility checker. It asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode your buyer questions and shows who they name instead of you. If those gaps are what you want an agent to close, Bottally Pro is $99 a month.
