Outrank.so review (2026)
What the $99 autopilot blog and backlink exchange include, what reviewers say, and where it falls short. This Outrank review covers Outrank.so, the autopilot SEO tool, not Outranking.io, which is a different content product. The short version: Outrank writes and publishes up to 30 articles a month and builds backlinks through an exchange among its customers, for $99 a month. It has a larger customer base and far more free tools than most rivals, and a mixed reputation for billing and support on Trustpilot. It does not track AI answers itself.
A disclosure: we make Bottally, which competes with Outrank. Every fact below comes from Outrank’s own site or a public review page, checked in October 2026, and where Outrank is stronger we say so.

What Outrank does
Outrank SEO starts with research. It looks at your niche, competitors and audience, picks keywords it rates as high-traffic and low-competition, and builds a 30-day plan with one key phrase per day. Then it writes and publishes an article from that plan every day. Keyword research is unlimited, and you can brainstorm keywords in a chat that pulls live search volume and difficulty.
Articles follow your style if you share some of your published pieces, include internal or external links, and come with on-brand AI images. You can preview, edit and approve any scheduled article up to seven days ahead, ask the AI to rewrite text or regenerate an image, and let Outrank flag underperforming articles for a rewrite. It writes in more than 150 languages, supports unlimited users and multiple sites from one dashboard, and for online stores writes around your real products.
You can publish at 8, 30, 60 or 90 articles a month and pick which days they go live. There is a REST API, an MCP server and a CLI for AI agents, and if you have no blog yet, Outrank will host one for free on your domain.

How the Outrank backlink exchange works
This is the feature reviewers mention most. Outrank publishes articles for thousands of businesses every day, and when one of those articles is a natural fit for your site, its AI places a link to you inside the copy, never in a footer or link list. You spend credits to receive links and earn them by letting Outrank place relevant links in the articles it writes for you. Sites with a higher Domain Rating earn more credits per hosted link, and credits refresh daily. Links are checked regularly, and if one is removed your credits are adjusted. The exchange is included in the $99 plan; you switch it on once.
The paid backlink plans buy something different. Outrank finds third-party blogs at DR 30 or above that already get Google traffic, writes an article for them with your product in it, and links to the page you choose. You set a minimum DR and can add up to 10 pages with 5 anchors each. Every link is verified and re-checked for 90 days; if one drops, the credits come back and your page goes to another blog.
One long review on EntreResource, written by a blogger who pays for Outrank, calls the link exchange the main reason to buy it. The same review notes that on the $99 plan you cannot set a minimum DR for incoming links or choose which pages receive them; that control came with an upgrade.
Outrank’s free tools
Outrank is stronger here than almost anyone in the category. Its free tools page lists 27 generators and checkers, from content briefs, titles and meta descriptions to robots.txt, readability and plagiarism. Its SEO Toolbox adds 22 more, including keyword research with volume and difficulty, a backlink checker and a Google rank checker, with no sign-up. A few overlap between the two hubs. There is also a free SEO audit, a competitor analysis, a backlink monitor and the free hosted blog.
By comparison, Bottally offers a website audit, an internal link checker, an AI visibility checker and an AI Overview checker.
Does Outrank track AI visibility?
Not directly. Outrank’s AI visibility page is about getting cited: answer-ready articles published every day, references on relevant sites, and backlinks. Its FAQ says that inside Outrank you track rankings, indexed pages and backlinks, that third-party tools such as Ahrefs report how often each assistant cites your domain, and that you can keep any tracker you like.
That is an honest position, since nobody controls what an assistant says. It does mean paying for a second tool if you want to see whether ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Mode names you, and which competitor it names instead.
Outrank reviews: what users say
On Trustpilot, outrank.so has a TrustScore of 3.8 from 96 reviews (checked 17 October 2026). The split is wide: 69% five-star and 27% one-star, with almost nothing in between. The profile is claimed. Positive reviews say it works as advertised, saves time, is easy to set up and that the backlink feature helps. Complaints in the one-star reviews include billing and cancellation (one recent reviewer describes being charged $99 after a trial they could not cancel), and Trustpilot’s own review summary mentions slow support, trouble removing payment details and uneven article quality for some users.
On Product Hunt, Outrank was #1 Product of the Day on 20 January 2025. Its review page shows 4.5 out of 5 from only two reviews, too few to read much into; the one criticism there is a wish for deeper built-in analytics.
We could not load Outrank’s G2 listing to check its figures, so we have left them out.

Where Outrank is stronger: it is bigger and more established, it has far more free tools, it writes in 150+ languages, it lets you approve articles before they go out, it sells paid link placements and human editing, and it suits multi-site teams with discounts and unlimited users.
Where Bottally is stronger: AI visibility tracking is part of the plan. Bottally puts 30 of your buyer questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode every week and writes articles aimed at the ones where someone else is named. Its backlink network keeps a strict one-for-one credit ledger, never has your articles link to your competitors, and only counts a link once the article carrying it is live, reversing the credit if the link later disappears.
If you want volume, languages and the option to buy links, Outrank is a reasonable choice. If you want to know whether AI answers name you, and have the articles go after the ones that do not, that is what Bottally is built for. Fewer free tools and no paid link plans; see the comparison above.
BabyLoveGrowth
BabyLoveGrowth’s Grow plan is $99 a month, about half that billed yearly, for 30 branded articles, 10 AI prompts tracked on ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, backlinks from 5,000+ partner sites, auto-publishing to WordPress, Shopify and eight more platforms, a site audit, Reddit and Quora agents and social posts. Scale at $399 raises that to 120 articles in four languages and 50 prompts. It has a 3-day free trial and a 90-day money-back guarantee.
RankPill
RankPill has one $99 plan: 30 articles of 3,000+ words, one a day, auto-published, with 30 backlink credits, monthly site audits, 40+ languages and unlimited team members. It runs a backlink exchange and offers a 90-day growth guarantee: a full refund if your traffic has not grown after 90 days of publishing.
SEObot
SEObot starts at $49 a month. It researches your site and keywords, plans content and produces articles every week, handles internal linking and builds backlinks, in around 50 languages, with YouTube-to-article and programmatic SEO options. You can approve or decline articles, and it refunds the $49 plan if you are not satisfied after the first article.
Distribb
Distribb Pro is $97 a month ($79 billed yearly) for 30 articles, with a 7-day free trial; Accelerator is $495 for 90 and runs link outreach for you. It has a backlink exchange among real businesses and an AI visibility tracker for ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers, alongside Search Console reporting.
SEOAgent
SEOAgent works inside coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Its Skill is free and runs on your own model keys; Autopilot is $79 per site per month after a 14-day free trial, adding Search Console measurement, research, briefs and drafted articles. It does not publish to a CMS on its own: your coding agent or a connector applies the changes.
Before you pick, see what AI says about you
The AI visibility checker puts your buyer questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode. It shows if you are named or cited, and who is named instead. If you want those answers tracked and worked on every week, Bottally Pro is $99 a month.
